Special Feature

I

n the last few years, the Town has made significant
improvements to the downtown area. The new beachside
plaza has a relaxing atmosphere, with brightly colored

Adirondack chairs for enjoying the ocean breeze.
Beginning in early November and continuing through May,
the Village Grille, Aruba Beach Café and 101 Ocean are
once again welcoming an array of wonderful musical
performances on Friday nights. Ever wanted to learn
ballroom dance? Danny Carter of Dance Moves will be
offering free ballroom dance class to anyone interested in
the town square the second and fourth Sunday of the month
from 5-7 pm, now through April 24. It’s dancing under the

stars! And when you are done, grab a bite at any of the
eateries on the Square, or walk down Commercial to any
one of our delightful bistros.

Do you dive or snorkel? You may not know that Lauderdale
by the Sea is recognized at the shore dive capital of South
Florida. As one of the best places to dive or snorkel, our
local dive shops can help you spend a day exploring our
coral reef.

The Town is putting the finishing touches on a project to
improve the walkability of Commercial Blvd. from Anglin
Pier to the Commercial Bridge. The last phase is set to
finish by November and will feature wider sidewalks along
commercial from A1A to Seagrape, uniting the businesses
community. Please plan to join us on November 28, when
merchants will be open for Windows by the Sea, our
annual window-decorating contest. This year, we are
partnering with American Express Shop Small Saturday.
Our Chamber will work with participating merchants to
develop a scavenger hunt map, encouraging shoppers to
find an item in the participating merchant ‘s window.
Come down; join the hunt, vote for your favorite window.
Plan to return on Wednesday, December 2 for Christmas
by the Sea, the Town’s Annual Holiday Celebration. We

will announce the name of our Window’s by The Sea best
window and pick random winners for gift certificates from
those shoppers who participated in the scavenger hunt. For
more information, watch our website, lbts.com and
lbtsevents.com.

When you come to town, make sure to consult our parking
map, which is available online at lbtsevents.com. Parking
is available in city lots. Our lots are located close to the
beach, Anglin’s Square and the Commercial shopping
district. You may use the PaybyPhone application on your
smart phone.

Realtor Rich Barnhart on LBTS'
Amazing Waterfront Lifestyle

We have been selling and leasing
property to the wonderful residents
and visitors of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea
since 1992. We like to say that “we
work where you vacation.” And, the
best part is, we are not just selling
condos and houses, we are selling the
amazing waterfront lifestyle that
makes LBTS so unique. Once you
drive over the bridge onto “the
island” everything you need is within
walking distance – shopping, restaurants, bars, fishing,
boating, scuba diving, or just relaxing on the beach. This
is truly a paradise that feels like home.

More and more people are moving to LBTS to make it their
permanent home. This town is a place where you can
really get involved and make a difference. This is not just a
tourist destination now. It is home to thousands of year-
round residents who truly value their neighbors and
community. Our residents come from all over the world,
but more recently we are experiencing a trend of residents
