President’s Message

                                                  Some important updates this month.

he 2024 annual meeting was well attended, with over 75 persons in
attendance. Topics covered at the meeting included discussions on Vacation
TRentals, License Plate Reader (LPRs), the upcoming Publix renovation, and
                                                  potential street closures.

The Board is in negotiations with Flock Safety to install six (6) new License
Plate readers at strategic high traffic locations to be determined throughout the
community. Bob Mayo has headed up this initiative for the Association. We are
hopeful the LPRs will be installed this summer. While they will not necessarily prevent
crime, they will help the police solve crimes. Lighthouse Point and The Landings
Tim Hernandez report good success with the LPRs, which will be linked to the Police Department and
President can identify cars registered to known criminals when they enter our neighborhood.
The Traffic and Safety Committee is also exploring possible funding sources
                                                  (sponsors and other.)
OFFICERS We have been working with the Publix developer who has proposed replacing the
Coral Ridge Publix with a two-story structure with parking at ground level and the

33rd Steet, behind the Publix loading dock. Currently, traffic from the internal drive

and the Publix loading dock all come together at that point. This makes it unsafe for
Craig Singer vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists.

Vicki Lynch very supportive of our concerns) and I met with the developer and his engineering

that intersection safer. We made suggestions regarding their latest plans and we
hope to have a new plan soon. Below is a picture of the proposed new Publix,

design of the intersection in question is shown on pg. 8.
