Commissioner’s Message

n July 5, 2022, the Fort Lauderdale Commission unanimously voted for
Inter Miami to complete the 20-acre community park at Lockhart by July
O2023. The park will have turf multipurpose fields, a playground, dog
parks, paved walking trails, open green space, and parking.
When Inter Miami completes the 20-acre park, the City Commission will vote on the
final park amenities, funded by the park bond. Over the past three years, I have met
with neighbors to discuss what you want at this park. Some of the ideas have
included a community center, skate park, esports arena, and splash pad. I am
hopeful that the next Commission will finish the park we have started. This will be an
amazing destination for all neighbors in District 1 and I am excited to see this park
moving forward!

The Bayview Drive project is underway and please be patient as we continue to
improve this road with sidewalks, roundabouts, and speed tables. George English
boat ramp improvements are complete and both boat ramps are now open and can
accommodate larger boats.
