Commissioner’s Message

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

t the January 9th,2024 Commission meeting, I made a motion for discussion
regarding the Ocean Harbor Residences project located 3013 and 3019
AHarbor Drive. The applicant’s request for an increase in height to two-
hundred and forty (240) feet requires them to obtain the City’s approval for a
conditional use permit, as the height of the building exceeds one hundred and twenty
(120) feet east of the Intracoastal Waterway.
The project was reviewed by the Development Review Committee (DRC) on February
14, 2023, and presented to the Planning and Zoning Board (PZB) on December
20, 2023. The PZB approved (6-3). I requested the item be called up for review
Warren Sturman, MD before the Commission and be placed on an agenda for discussion. Many residents

District 4 Commissioner
City of Fort Lauderdale height increase. In support of my fellow residents, I made the Motion for Discussion,
wsturman@fortlauderdale.gov however the motion died for lack of a second and the height increase was approved.
I will continue to address the overdevelopment in our District.

I am looking forward to hosting our annual Hurricane Preparedness event as
Hurricane season starts June 1st, and hope to see you there! At this time we are
continuing with our District Townhalls. These meetings are a great opportunity to
voice your opinion. In February, I hosted two Townhalls and a Bike Ride Event, all
very well attended. I want to thank my neighbors for attending and bringing their
feedback forward. I truly enjoy bringing the information from these Townhalls to the
Commission Meetings and accomplishing things together! Stay in touch and be on
