Dr. Scurci’s journey to plastic surgery took a less

a rigorous general surgery residency at University

broad spectrum of surgical disciplines. Dr. Scurci
then advanced to a fellowship in plastic surgery at
Cleveland Clinic Florida, where she refined her skills
in both reconstructive and aesthetic procedures. This
extensive training enables her to deliver sophisticated,
natural-looking results tailored to each patient’s
unique needs. It was while she was conducting
research at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda,
MD, that she initially envisioned a career in surgical
oncology. However, the emotional weight of delivering
difficult news to patients gave her pause. “Those
challenging conversations are an integral part of the
job,” she explains. In plastic surgery, she discovered
a unique balance: the opportunity to help cancer
