LHIA President’s Message

                                                   Hello Neighbors,
                                                  I
hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful weather that makes South Florida the
place to be at this time of year. Hopefully we can expect at least three more
                                                    months of it.
It was great to see all of you that were able to attend the Winter Party in January
at Maggie Bradley’s lovely home. Thanks go out to Maggie, Barbara Magill and
her husband, Patty Hawk, the Quarterdeck and everyone else who provided food
and worked to make the party great. There were well over 100 in attendance.

On February 25th we had a Special Meeting of the Membership to discuss the
13th Street Bridge replacement project and neighborhood security issues. Be on
the lookout for the meeting minutes if you were not able to attend. Be sure that we
have your email address. You can reach out to me at rferencik@outlook.com and I
will make sure you are included on emails.
Our Annual Meeting will take place at St. Sebastian’s on March 25th which
will include the election of officers for next year and the election of three board
members. If you are interested in any of these positions please let me know and I
will see that you have an opportunity. Stay tuned for details about the meeting.
Finally, the traffic issues on Cordova Road may be approaching resolution. We
have been told that the City has found funding for the installation of a more vehicle-
friendly version of the plastic speed bumps that were installed after the repaving
project but removed after numerous complaints. Hopefully we will finally see an
                                                   end to this.
Don’t forget to renew your membership and, if you are not a member please join us.
