City Breaks Ground on New FLPD
Headquarters
“Today, we celebrated the start of construction of a new police
headquarters for Fort Lauderdale. It’s been a long time coming.
The old station was out of date, too small for our current force
and unable to withstand a major hurricane. We’re looking
forward to the opening of the new facility in 2025, a place
designed to assist our officers in ensuring our community is
as safe as possible.” – Mayor Dean Trantalis at groundbreaking
for the new FLPD Headquarters on Thursday, June 29.
