LHIA President’s Message

                                                   Hello Neighbors,

s we approach the end of Hurricane Season, we should all feel thankful for
having avoided the extreme consequences that impacted our neighbors to
Athe north. Many of them are facing ongoing issues that will continue to affect
them well into the future so I encourage everyone to find a way to provide assistance
in any way that you can. There are a number of assistance organizations that will
need support to continue to assist those that have been impacted.
Here in Lauderdale Harbors, we are now enjoying the first of the fall weather that
makes living in South Florida so enjoyable and so welcome back to our neighbors
who have been traveling over the summer months.
The speed feedback signs are finally in place on Cordova Road. While it remains to
be seen how effective these signs will be, we owe thanks to our Commissioner, Dr.
Warren Sturman, for helping to get this done. I have personally seen many drivers
traveling north on Cordova Road moderate their speed to 25 mph or less as they see
their speed reflected on the sign, so thank you for that. Of course, there are some
drivers that seem to ignore the signs. If you are one of those drivers, I encourage you
to get on board and help make our neighborhood a safe place for everyone.

On another note, I have recently received a letter from AT&T advising that they
plan to install fiber optic cables in our neighborhood. The project is scheduled to
start in the next 3 to 5 months and AT&T will notify residents with Door Hangers
about 2 to 3 days before the work is to start. The work will involve digging, boring
and installation of underground vaults in the utility easements. We will provide
updates via email to those who are on our email lists for LHIA members and
LHIA residents. Jen Lewer is the right of way coordinator for AT&T. She can be
                                                   contacted at jenlewer@rowcoordinator.com. Stay tuned.
This would be a great time to join LHIA. See the LHIA membership form on the
