enior Living Placement Agents, also known as Senior Living
Referral Agents, are like real estate agents. They specialize
Sin helping seniors and/or their adult children locate the right
living arrangements based on their unique budget, location, care
requirements, social, and other needs that fit a client’s purpose
based on several demographic and psychographic factors. Before
deciding on a community, most families will take a tour of the
residence. Tours are necessary, but vastly time-consuming, difficult,
and emotionally challenging. Working with a referral service might
decrease the number of tours that are needed from 4 to 5 to just 1
or 2. In addition, they provide scheduling assistance in arranging
tours and some will even accompany you.
Additionally, families that find themselves on a strict time schedule
can benefit greatly from the help of a senior care placement
agency. This can include situations where the senior is leaving
the hospital or other skilled nursing center but is no longer able to
remain safely at home. Time-sensitive situations are easily managed
when working with a senior placement agency because they have
a diverse knowledge base about which communities are available
locally. The best agents to use are those who live in the general
area you are searching. There are many on-line services, but those
agents often are working from a call center and don’t typically live
anywhere you are looking and cannot accompany you on the tour.
A quality agency will be familiar with the senior living locations in
their metro area. Keep in mind that senior placement services are
there to help you in your time of need. Best of all most senior living
placement agents do not charge for their placement services
because they receive a commission from the senior community that
they recommend.
