Commissioner’s Message

onstruction for the Bayview Drive Mobility Project will now begin earlier
than anticipated on April 27, 2022 and will continue into early 2023!
CThese changes to Bayview Drive will provide an enhanced experience for
residents in terms of functionality and overall appearance. There will be new access
for walking and biking, along with the design providing traffic calming on Bayview
Drive between Sunrise Boulevard and Commercial Boulevard!

Throughout the past few years and most recently on April 25th, 2022, FDOT
and neighbors in the surrounding areas have held meetings to ensure that the
final product aligns with the safety, functionality and the shared vision of their
neighborhoods.
The improvements will include filling in the missing sidewalks to create continuous
sidewalks on both sides of the road and completing the gap in the bicycle lanes
