President’s Message
The heat and humidity might be tough right now but at least we
have been spared from big storms so far this summer.
e should still be prepared, and as Mayor Dean Trantalis pointed out in
our last magazine, three basic steps can get you started: Make a Plan,
WBuild a Kit, and Keep Informed. Go to fortlauderdale.gov/hurricane for
helpful information.
As far as the Board work is
concerned, we have completed
and distributed the membership
directories and for that I give a
Helena Cooper special thank you to our block
PRESIDENT captains and our block captain
helena@coopgroupllc.com
chairperson Dana Mullaney.
OFFICERS As the Landings’ Green Your
VICE PRESIDENT Routine representative, I received
Anne Maschmeyer valuable information about
annemasch@yahoo.com solar options and hurricane
SECRETARY preparedness at the last meeting.
Dana Mullaney Please see our GYR committee
danatmullaney@aol.com report for details.
TREASURER The implementation of the
Kathleen Cool
kacool1@aol.com upgrades to plantings at the Block Captain volunteers Anne Bolton (left) and Cheryl Becker
monuments and medians is (right) prepare Directories for distribution to Landings Residential
taking a bit longer and is now Association members.
BOARD MEMBERS anticipated to commence in the fall, most likely October.
Cheryl Becker The work to get 110-volt power to the flag poles and the north Bayview monument
becker_cheryl@hotmail.com is likely to commence in November. FPL started the work on converting the
Helen Bennett streetlights to LED, but have still to complete the whole project. In checking with the
helenbennettnj@gmail.com city, FPL is behind schedule in several communities, and an estimated completion
date for The Landings has not been provided. We are on their list!!
Scott Cooper
scott@coopgroupllc.com We continue to look for options for deploying the Sea Bins. Meanwhile, there are
Ronnie Dennis numerous ways we as neighbors can pull together to make a difference. See the
fishinfam@aol.com Water Maintenance article in this issue by Tom Brinkley for more information.
Diane Dodich On a disturbing note, residents heard car racing on Bayview in the middle of the
dionline94@aol.com
night earlier in the month. For the police to start investigating, a report needs to
Michael Maschmeyer be filed. So please…if you see or hear suspicious activity like this or other forms,
mike@urbanrooftops.com contact the police immediately! We all love and treasure where we live and need
Shahina Siddiqi to keep it the safe and tranquil place The Landings is known for.
shahina507@yahoo.com
As the start of school approaches and residents return to town, we look forward
to many opportunities to get together as neighbors and Landings Residential
Association members.
Please save the date for this year’s LRA Member Annual Block party on Saturday
November 4th. This year we’ll have a Pizza truck!!!! See page 8 for details.
