President’s Message
Heat, humidity and rain can always
be expected in the summer, and we
are lucky to have avoided any major
storms so far this season.
e should still be prepared, and as our mayor Dean Trantalis pointed
out in our last magazine, three basic steps can get you started: Make
Helena Cooper Wa plan, build a kit, and stay informed. For helpful information visit
PRESIDENT fortlauderdale.gov/hurricane. There you can register for alert FTL emergency alerts

and find out about sales tax holidays among other helpful information.
OFFICERS The next phase of the upgrades to plantings at the monuments and medians
VICE PRESIDENT is anticipated to commence in the fall, most likely in November. Repairs and
Anne Maschmeyer maintenance on irrigation along medians on Bayview and 55th Street and
annemasch@yahoo.com uplighting of Landings Bridge signs were requested and responded to.
SECRETARY The commission has approved a second trash barge, which will improve the
Cheryl Becker maintenance of our waterways. The city prioritizes service areas based on
becker_cheryl@hotmail.com
historical “phone call data.” With that, we urge you to call the city’s main number
TREASURER 954-828-8000 to report floating trash in your canal. By reporting the trash, we will

within the Landings.
Extended life battery packs have been added to our LPR readers to ensure
BOARD MEMBERS continued camera operation during extended periods of cloudy weather. The
Helen Bennett software has been updated and the cameras are reported to be operating well.
helenbennettnj@gmail.com The maintenance, updating and possible replacements are made possible by your
Scott Cooper contributions! A huge thank you to all of you who already sent in your annual
scott@coopgroupllc.com camera contribution. If you have not done so yet, please send in the contribution
via Zelle or check in the envelope provided in our mailing. The Landings QR code

Diane Dodich We all love and treasure where we live and need to keep it the safe and tranquil
dionline94@aol.com place the Landings is known for.
Michael Maschmeyer As the start of school approaches and more residents are returning to town, we

look forward to many opportunities to get together as neighbors and Landings
Dana Mullaney Residential Association members. It is always good to see old friends and welcome
danatmullaney@aol.com newcomers to the neighborhood.
Shahina Siddiqi In the past we have held the LRA Member Annual Block party in early November.
shahina507@yahoo.com
This year we have decided to postpone it to later in the season when a greater
number of our part-time residents are in town. Instead, we are scheduling another
curb-side cocktail event on November 7th. These were such a hit last year and we
plan on continuing them at least once per month.
