Commissioner’s Message
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I would like to recap some of the things that we have accomplished over the course
of 2023 in our first year together.
1. Enhanced Public safety
A. Completing contracts with our first responders, adding personnel to both police
and fire fighters.
B. Working to bring into operation three new fire stations, all located in District 4.

VICE MAYOR D. Authorizing first of its kind pilot program having Police certified medical EMT.

3. Approved state of the art water treatment plant, one capable of withstanding a
Cat-5 hurricane, which will make our water clean, clear and meet new EPA
standards, including PFAS 'forever chemicals'.
4. Launched a series of monthly Townhall
meetings to address topics including Las
Olas Mobility, City Budget, Infrastructure,
Commuter Rail, Hurricane Preparedness.

6. Adding Funding for new sidewalks.

8. I proposed adding a Homeless Advisory
Committee and the City Commission
