Icon Las Olas Opens
Anchor Restaurant, Etaru
ort Lauderdale’s tallest building, the new Icon Las Olas,
Fopened its anchor restaurant in style, complete with live
entertainment, a packed house, and a sake uncorking
ceremony.
The Las Olas spot is the second location for Etaru, which
also runs a Japanese-inspired spot by the same name in
Hallandale. Dishes include beef and ginger dumplings,
Korean-spiced lamb chops, tuna tataki with apple and
wasabi, and black cod skewers.
During the opening, traditional Japanese taiko drummers
set a beat, as DJ Nuny spun tunes. Etaru co-founder Rainer
Becker and the company’s executive chef, Hamish Brown,
