Holidays in Rio Vista

                                                       By Nancy Messing Brand

e had a wonderful time at the annual Rio Vista
holiday party on December 7th! Just after 4pm,
Wall the ornaments were blowing off the tables
and onto the ground, and the tents were flapping. I looked
skyward and asked politely for the winds to die down.
Wish granted at 5pm. By the time guests began arriving at
6pm, the skies were clear and the festive atmosphere took
hold, allowing the evening to unfold just as we had hoped.
Everyone was in high spirits, ready to enjoy the food, music,
and good company that make this event such a cherished
             tradition in our neighborhood.
The decorations this year were absolutely stunning, thanks to
the hard work of our volunteers who braved the early winds
to set everything up. Twinkling lights and colorful ornaments
adorned the tables, while the scent of holiday treats filled the
air. A huge ‘thank you’ goes to the party planning committee,
whose attention to detail ensured that every corner of the
event space was festive and welcoming. The children were
especially thrilled with the craft station generously supplied by
the YMCA, and the face painting which captured moments
with friends and family that will surely be cherished for years
to come. The musician brought us into the holiday spirit,
including a special addition of his daughter, who belted out
four songs. The strolling magician was pretty cool also.

Drinks were generously provided by Primo Liquors, with
something to satisfy every taste. Thank you Kaushal Karia!
Thank you to Lauderale for donating the beer. Thank you to
Razzleberry’s Homemade Ice Cream! A BIG thank you to Rio
Vista residents Chuck and Michele West for their generous
donation. Another big thanks goes out to our Rio Vista
neighbor Alex Jean of Long, Jean & Wechsler, P.A. And thank
