Hello District 1 Neighbors!

I
t’s official! I am so pleased to announce that as of May 18th, FREE transportation
is now available for our residents at the beach! Circuit - as I often describe as
a golf cart on steroids – has been a huge success in Fort Lauderdale, and I am
excited to bring this FREE transportation option to the Galt Mile.
Based on feedback from the community and a look at the data provided by our
partners at Circuit, the Micro Mover was an instant hit when it was introduced in
our downtown and is growing rapidly in popularity and demand. It only made
sense to me to have the service extended to our District. A big thank you to City staff
for helping me to make that a reality!

District 1 Commissioner Using the FREE Ride Circuit app, anyone can request to be picked up and dropped
City of Fort Lauderdale off anywhere within the service area, which runs along A1A from NE 30th Street to
jherbst@fortlauderdale.gov
NE 42nd Court. The vehicles operate every day of the week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
This FREE service has knowledgeable and friendly drivers that connect riders with
area businesses, shopping and restaurants, and it also hooks up with the Circuit
vehicles that now serve Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. It is truly a convenient, hassle-free
way to move through the Galt Mile.
As ridership grows, I hope to be able to extend the service to the Target shopping
center, as well as to Holy Cross and Imperial Point hospitals in the near future;
stay tuned.
