Canal Cleanup Plans
By Kevin O’Neil
he Board is exploring automated solutions
to clean up our waterways. The Landings is
Tcooperating with the University of Florida to
deploy three Seabin ocean trash collectors (“Seabins”)
in our canals. Seabins are passive floating trash
skimmers that clean up waterways by collecting
floating debris; a floating trash can that fills itself.
You simply need to empty the bin when full and
dispose of the contents.
We are addressing logistical issues regarding
placement of the Seabins; given the depth of our
canals we will need to acquire floating platforms to
mount the Seabins. If you are interested in
contributing to the costs of the platforms or hosting
a Seabin in your canal, please contact us at
thelandingsra@gmail.com.
Congratulations,
Graduate!
The Landings is proud to recognize another of our
neighborhood graduates! Congratulations to
Shane Dodich, 2023 Pine Crest Graduate.
